Connect with BC Acting Students and Other Creatives on Brooklyn Backstage!

Through the collaboration of Feirstein and the Brooklyn College Dept. of Theater, the brand-new Brooklyn Backstage is now available for Brooklyn College Students! The service will connect BFA & MFA Acting Students in the Theater Department with Feirstein Students looking for actors and collaborators.

In addition to collaborating on Feirstein student projects, the Brooklyn College Dept. of Theater is looking for filmmakers to collaborate on their projects in development. Projects include virtual theater plays with film components, industry showreels, and more!

You can sign-up now (free membership required). If you have any questions about using the site and connecting with actors, Professor and Head of Acting, BFA Program Patrick Sabongui is more than happy to assist.

2) Magner Center hosted several Zoom sessions throughout the summer with industry professionals including a Theater Director/Playwright, a Spectrum News NY1 Reporter, a movie producer, an NBC Page and more!!

We also wanted to highlight the Magner Center YouTube SVMPA playlist, since it could be a great resource for you to feature on social media or website showcasing employers, experienced alumni as well as recent graduates

Students can view video clips from these sessions as well as access additional career resources via the SVMPA Newsletter:  https://tinyurl.com/svmpa-newsletter.  We also developed an SVMPA Career Action Plan against Covid-19 with skills students should be developing during the pandemic in addition to industry resources:  https://tinyurl.com/svmpaactionplan.

Note: There was a recent job scam sent from a “BC students” email but it was not a real job. Please review our tips on identifying if a job posting may be a scam http://tinyurl.com/employerredflags.  If you have any doubts about an employer opportunity, please email careernews@brooklyn.cuny.edu before responding to the employer.
