Welcome Annette Danto, the new Chair of Feirstein School of Graduate Cinema!

Dear Feirstein students, staff, faculty, and community,

We are very pleased to announce and share the great news that ANNETTE DANTO will be joining The Feirstein School as our new Chair beginning in the Fall 2021 term. Please join us in welcoming her!

Annette is currently Professor and Chair of the Undergraduate Film Department at Brooklyn College.  She will serve as Chair of these two distinct departments.

Annette is an accomplished filmmaker, experienced educator and author.   She has been a Professor in the Undergraduate Film Program for twenty-one years and Department Chair for the past two years.  A three-time awarded Fulbright Scholar in Film and Media Making, her documentary films include: Reflections on Media Ethics (2011), Gandhi’s Wheel (2010), The Never Ending Path (2005).  Her work is distributed through www.forwardintime.com and held in permanent collections of universities and educational institutions worldwide. Annette is also co-author/editor of the Routledge textbook: Think/Point/Shoot: Media Ethics, Technology and Global Change (2017).

We thank Paula Massood for her generous contribution to Feirstein as Chair for the past year. Enjoy your summers, and we are eager to welcome you back to Feirstein in the Fall!
