THE LONG WEEKEND

(Working Title)

Feature Film, Dramedy
By Corey L. O’Connell

SYNOPSIS

Loren is a mess. She’s a twenty-six-year-old psychology doctoral student with a tendency to neglect her own emotional conundrums in favor of working, playing, and solving other people’s problems. There’s only one other person whose problems she doesn’t want to deal with: her best friend, Justine. Justine married her college sweetheart and has a three-year-old daughter, Loren’s goddaughter, Natalie. Loren realizes she can’t deflect her problems forever, but can’t she just drink, dance, and deal with it all another day?

She can’t. When Justine calls and insists that Loren fly from New York to Colorado to attend Natalie’s birthday party, Loren’s conscience gets the better of her. She goes, only to find that her ex-boyfriend (and the former love of her life), Ian, is attending as well. In one long weekend, Justine, Ian, and some other unexpected guests force Loren to reckon with her past relationships and examine her present ones.
